French Exchange

05th May 2017

19 Students from Scariff Community  College and their teacher Ms Stewart recently returned from a very successful French School exchange to Lycee Notre Dame.

Each student was hosted by a french family in the area.

The students attended regular French school each day and took part in classes from 8 am to 12 pm . L'heure de dejeuner 12-2 pm, lunch was eaten with the French students in the school cantine.

It was not all work and no play however we also took part in leisure activities 2-5 pm most days  and went on a day trip to La Rochelle, took part in a treasure hunt and quiz locally, some even attended music and swim training and several went to play les boules and the famous boat rides on La Vendee. The french kindly arranged a soiree last week-end where 'ils ont tous fait la fete' and the french taught our Irish students french dance.

We look forward to welcoming the French students to our school next Autumn and following the success of our first exchange we hope to continue our liaison with Lycee Notre Dame.
