Schools' Orienteering

A group of students participated in the Munster Orienteering Championships in Doneraile, Co. Cork in March. There were wins in a number of categories;

In the 3rd year boys' category, Joseph Moloney placed 1st, Oisin Kilkenny placed 2nd and the 3rd year boys' team  won 1st place overall.

The 2nd/3rd year girls' team and the 1st year boys' team both placed 3rd in their respective categories.

In addition, Lucia Cairns placed 1st in her category in the All-Ireland Schools' Championship at Fota Wildlife Park before Easter. She completed the course in a very impressive time. Cieara Kilkenny also placed 2nd with Roisin Bent coming in 3rd. At the same event, the 3rd year boys' placed 3rd and the 1st year boys' team placed 4th overall.

A great day out was had by all at both events. Orienteering takes place at lunchtime on Fridays, for students who wish to try it.
