Before You Start Guide

Please read this guide in full before you commence the registration and subject level confirmation process. 

In line with changes required to deliver calculated grades to students due to sit Leaving Certificate and Leaving Certificate Applied examinations this year, the Calculated Grades Executive Office of the Department of Education and Skills has developed a Calculated Grade Student Portal. 

08 May, 2020 – Minister announces postponement of 2020 Leaving Certificate examinations

All students to be offered the option of accepting Calculated Grades or sitting Leaving Certificate written examinations at a later date 

The Minister for Education and Skills Joe McHugh T.D. has today (Friday 8 May 2020) announced the postponement of the 2020 Leaving Certificate. 

Assessment & Reporting arrangements for Junior Cycle 2020 - Scariff Community College

All Third Year students will finish the Junior Certificate programme on Friday, 29 May 2020 and there will be no examinations in September. 

In accordance with the announcement of the Minister of Education and Skills on Wednesday, 29 April 2020 and the DES guidelines on Assessment and Reporting on students’ learning at Junior Cycle May 2020, your child will receive:

Junior Certificate update 27th April 2020

Parents/Guardians - I am sure you are aware of the intensive stakeholder engagement currently underway in relation to examination matters. Please see the latest statement dated Friday 24 April 2020 at the link below. As per the Minister's request, we will await conclusion of these discussions before taking any decisions regarding assessment arrangements for Junior Cycle students. We hope to be in a position to provide you with clarity on Wednesday next.

Update for Parents 20 April 2020

Dear Parent/Guardian,

We hope you had a nice Easter in spite of the restrictions on movement that were implemented nationally since 27 March 2020 in line with public health guidelines. We know from feedback from our staff and interactions with students, that students and teachers miss school-life and attending classes.  As you are aware, the current health advice is that all schools remain closed until further notice - until Tuesday, 5 May 2020 at least.
