Appointment of acting Deputy Principal, Scariff Community College

Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board recently announced the appointment of Jack O’Connell as the acting Deputy Principal of Scariff Community College, Scariff, County Clare.
A graduate of Mary Immaculate College Limerick and Hibernia, Jack is a qualified teacher of Maths and Gaeilge and completed a Professional Diploma in School Leadership from University of Limerick. He has also worked as a Tutor with Mary Immaculate College Limerick. Prior to his appointment to Scariff Community College, Jack held various leadership positions within the education sector including several years as an Assistant Principal in Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh, and more recently as a senior facilitator with OIDE (formerly PDST) with various areas of responsibility including Droichead Induction, Mathematics, Numeracy across the Curriculum, Lesson Study & School Self-Evaluation. Speaking about his new role, Jack said: “I am delighted to be appointed to this role in Scariff Community College and I am really looking forward to meeting students, staff, parents and the wider school community in November. I am very excited to get the opportunity to work in a vibrant school community with an excellent principal and staff to enhance the opportunities for all students in the college.”
