Stand Up Awareness Week.
Stand Up Awareness Week is when students and staff at Scariff Community College recognise and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community by participating in a national campaign run by Belong To Youth Services. Through this important campaign, Scariff CC are showing solidarity with LGBTQ+ young people to ensure they feel seen, heard, and safe.
Events will include; raising of the LGBTI+ Rainbow Flag, a Baking Competition and a Wear the Rainbow Day.
Stand Up Awareness Week takes place in schools across Ireland and is now in its 14th year.
The focus of the week is to decrease homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying, and increase friendship and support of LGBTQ+ students by other students.
