TY Students – Busy at work

Our Transition Year students this week have been taking advantage of the lovely fine weather to get out and about working on the school grounds. The girls have been preparing a raised bed for planting “Andrea’s garden” – a memorial garden to honor Ms Andrea Mc Mahon a teacher who gave so much to our school before her untimely death some years ago. The girls cleared up around the garden and carried out some much need renovations after our absence from the school over recent months. There was a lot of weeding to be done and the newly cleared soil had to be raked. The TY’s plan on putting down weedblock and decorative stones and planting it over the coming weeks. Meanwhile our TY boys were busy they planted four apple trees in our school orchard. They put mulch at the bases of all the trees. The mulch was created from other trees that were cut down around the school. Well done to our new TY class their work will enhance our school grounds for all staff and students.
